leads HomeWealth Solutions with one focus: partner with Financial Professionals and households so every mortgage decision is planned around housing wealth — not sold as a product.
The practice
HomeWealth Solutions is built to complement — not compete with — the work of Financial Advisors, CPAs, Estate Planning Attorneys, and other trusted professionals. Housing is often the largest decision on a family’s balance sheet; when financing is handled in isolation, it can quietly undermine the plan those professionals already oversee.
We collaborate alongside the advisors your clients already trust. They remain the primary relationship for wealth, tax, and estate strategy; we help clients make mortgage decisions that support that broader financial plan — coordinating structure, timing, and documentation so housing reinforces what is already in place. This is collaboration, not a referral pipeline or a product pitch.
Whether we are working with an advisor’s team or directly with a household, the standard is the same: clear trade-offs on payment, reserves, and opportunity cost before anything is locked, so mortgage decisions strengthen the plan instead of competing with it.
The path
Before HomeWealth Solutions, spent years as a financial advisor — sitting across from households whose retirement projections, insurance coverage, and investment allocations all assumed a housing strategy that nobody had stress-tested. Too often the mortgage arrived as a separate conversation, handled by someone optimizing for closing speed rather than for how the loan would live inside the plan. That gap stuck with him.
Later, as a business executive, he learned how capital decisions get made when the stakes are real: cash flow first, reserves protected, opportunity cost measured before the commitment is signed. Housing, he saw, deserved the same discipline. Families were taking on the largest liability on their balance sheet without the planning framework advisors already used for every other major asset.
Those two chapters — advising and operating — shaped how he approaches mortgage planning today. He does not start with a rate sheet. He starts with the questions a fiduciary would ask: What does this payment do to monthly liquidity? How much equity path are you buying versus how much flexibility are you giving up? Does the structure reinforce the tax and retirement plan already in place, or does it quietly undermine it?
HomeWealth Solutions exists because wanted a practice where those questions come first — every time. Whether coordinating with an advisor who already owns the client relationship, or working directly with a household, the standard is the same: structure the loan so housing wealth supports the broader plan, not the other way around. Product selection follows the plan. Timing follows the plan. And if waiting, paying down debt, or keeping the current loan is the smarter move, that is the recommendation — in writing — before anyone applies.
How we work
Rate shopping alone misses the point. We map how the loan interacts with retirement income, investment accounts, insurance, and liquidity so the monthly payment and the equity path both make sense.

From first conversation to close
HomeWealth Solutions is built on clarity, deliberate planning, and long-term relationships — not a one-time transaction.
Next step
Whether you are an advisor bringing a client question or a household weighing purchase, refinance, or equity strategy — we will outline options that fit before any application pressure.
Doug never pushed us toward the quickest close. He took time to understand our goals, mapped how the mortgage would support our broader plan, and walked through every trade-off with our advisor before recommending a structure. We felt guided through a planning process — not sold a product — and that clarity is why we still call him years later.
